Hello everyone! Because February is Heart Awareness Month, today, I’m going to discuss Citrus Bergamot for a Healthy Heart and Cholesterol Levels.
Cholesterol
Many patients present to me having not tolerated medications to lower their cholesterol and wanting other options that can help to reduce their cardiovascular risk. Today, I want to continue discussing another heart healthy nutrient that can help, Citrus Bergamot.
Sardinia, Italy, is the second largest island in the Mediterranean, and one of the blue zones inhabiting many centenarians. Here the citrus bergamot fruit grows abundantly, and is a known staple of the Sardinian diet. Sardinians are said to drink one glass of bergamot juice daily, similar to Floridians drinking orange juice daily.
Interestingly, Sardinians have a lower prevalence of cardiovascular disease and cholesterol. The bergamot’s polyphenols help reduce oxidized LDL and reduce HMG-CoA reductase, while increasing HDL and particle size. In addition, bergamot doesn’t deplete CoQ10 as statins do.
When using bergamot products with my patients, I have noticed some companies source their product from the United States, but the best source for this product is Sardinia. This has produced the maximum results and is the only source I use for my patients.
Our LB product is called Citrus Bergamot, sourced from Sardinia.
I have seen this lower cholesterol in my patients. Typically, the dose is 1 gram or 2 capsules of our product daily. If you take this product, please make sure to have your cholesterol levels tested so that you can monitor the effectiveness.

Just received my cholesterol results and in 3 months my cholesterol has improved by 49 points with LDL going down by 58 points.
I have been taking your citrus bergamot for approximately 2 months. Also for the last 3 months eating 1/2 cup of beans (pinto, chickpeas, northern, black beans etc) or 2 tablespoons of hummus (chickpea) drinking 6-8 cups of green tea and matcha. I’ve been taking red yeast rice for approximately 1 year but it hadn’t shown much improvement until making the above changes. I also cut back on beer consumption from a 6-10 bottles to no more than 4 per week. Thank you. This is so encouraging.
Wonderful. Congratulations and thanks for sharing! Proof that natural options can work. Keep up the diet changes too :)!
How much were you taking daily and were you taking also red rice yeast or fish oil at the same time ? Thank you
