Why do you need probiotics?
Today I would like to discuss why you need a probiotic and how to pick the best probiotic supplements. Bacterial cultures in foods date back thousands of years and although many foods contain good bacteria, they don’t contain high enough doses. Therefore, if you supplement with the best probiotics, it is an easy way to increase the number of good bacteria and yeast to help outnumber the bad!
Who needs a probiotic?
- If you ingest processed foods…
- Prone to Yeast problems
- If you drink tap water (gross)…
- Allergy and skin problems
- If you eat antibiotic-treated animals…
- Constipation/diarrhea, irregularity of bowels
- When taking antibiotic
- Probiotics are great to help strengthen/balance your immune system. They are recommended if you have autoimmune diseases or GUT issues like Crohn’s Colitis, diverticulitis etc.
So, I challenge you to get out your probiotic. I will share my top 4 tips on what to look for in the best probiotic supplements:
FIRST, assess your product’s potency.
Read your labels. Many OTC products contain millions not billions.
Additionally, did you know that many products potencies are guaranteed ONLY at their manufacturing date, not at the expiration date? That means If a product says it contains 15 billion colony forming units at manufacturing date, we truly don’t know how potent of a product you are ingesting by the time it gets to your home.

SECOND, you also want to look at the number of strains in your probiotics.
